Well Robyn and I decided today since we are going on a trip to Florida soon and because not everyone has Facebook that we would start a blog for our family. What a great way to share everything we've been up to with all of our family and friends near and far!
As we are just starting out here in April...(wow actually it's almost May!) I'll post a quick update. Time sure flies!
Robyn is now in Gr.5 and middle school no less. She's doing fantastic, all A's & A+'s. We as parents could not be more proud! She never ceases to amaze us. In addition to doing exceptional in school, Robyn played ringette yet again this year for Bowview Petite C 'Funky Monkey's' as their goalie. The Funky Monkey's went through the season undefeated coached by none other than myself, Jay as Goalie Coach & Papa Lennard! What a great team. It was a great season with the team winning City Championships and finishing 4th in Provincials with Robyn finishing as the 3rd Goalie in the province in the skills competition! It was sad to end the season for all of us being that we had such a solid team of wonderful girls but we all had a wonderful season and can't wait for next season already.
Kayla is in Gr.2. My baby is growing so fast. Like her big sister she too is doing exceptional in school. She reads above gr. level and has an excellent understanding of math with fine tuned art skills. *Wonder who she gets that from ;) * Kayla opted to take a year off of ringette this past season and instead chose to join Brownies. Although we said she could do both the little turkey said she needed to commit to one or the other. Brownies it was. After a short go of Brownies, and one time away at camp Kayla did not want to continue. :( We weren't surprised, she's so active and loves being busy.
As Robyn's ringette season came to an end we were lucky to get a call about room in the Spring Ringette camp and quick as we could signed our KK up. Both girls are playing in Spring Ringette and love it. It was as if Kayla was never off skates or out of ringette, she took off and got right into everything, in fact she scored on Robyn!! Now Robyn insists she 'let' Kayla score but Jason and I think otherwise. Kayla is going to blast Robyn with some tough shots and will only get better as the girls head into Summer Ringette camp and then Power Skating at the end of Summer.
In a short 5 more weeks the 4 of us will be off to the Airport to take off to Florida. We cannot wait! It's been 2 years since Mexico and this family escape has been a long time coming and well deserved! We have so much to celebrate and it's been an exhausting year packed so full with all of us constantly on the go. Florida won't really be down time where we slow down...haha...in fact we plan to pack tons of amusement parks, sun and fun into a week.
